Dec 11, 2022

At A Quest Actors Studio, we believe in the importance of recognizing the history and significance of the lands on which we operate. We acknowledge that our studio is located on the traditional territories of indigenous peoples who have stewarded this land for centuries.

Our Commitment

As an Arts & Entertainment - Performing Arts organization, we are dedicated to fostering an inclusive and respectful environment. We are committed to acknowledging and respecting the indigenous peoples who have lived, worked, and performed on this land before us.

Traditional Territories

The traditional territories on which A Quest Actors Studio is situated include the ancestral lands of various indigenous communities. These communities have diverse cultures, languages, and traditions, enriching the fabric of our society.

The First Nations

The traditional territories within close proximity to our studio include the lands of the Chumash, Tongva, and GabrieleƱo/Tongva peoples. We acknowledge their profound historical and ongoing contributions to the area.

The Chumash People

The Chumash people have been the traditional inhabitants of the coastal regions of Central and Southern California. Their distinct culture, rich traditions, and profound reverence for the land continue to shape the region. We express our gratitude and respect for the Chumash Nation.

The Tongva People

The Tongva people, also known as the Gabrielino/Tongva tribe, are the original inhabitants of the Los Angeles Basin and the Southern Channel Islands. Their resilience and cultural heritage have left an indelible mark on this land that we call home. We pay tribute to the Tongva Nation.

Honoring Indigenous Peoples

At A Quest Actors Studio, we recognize the need to amplify indigenous voices and perspectives. We seek to create space for cultural exchange, education, and collaboration. By acknowledging these traditional territories, we honor the resilience, wisdom, and contributions of indigenous peoples.

Our Responsibility

We understand that acknowledging the land is just one step towards reconciliation and decolonization. We are committed to learning, unlearning, and engaging in ongoing dialogue with indigenous communities. We aim to support initiatives that promote equity, justice, and the preservation of indigenous cultures.
